Last night, multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated artist Shawn Mendes surprised fans with the release of two new singles, “Why Why Why” and “Isn’t That Enough.” These tracks serve as the lead singles from his highly anticipated upcoming album, Shawn, set to drop on October 18. The release was accompanied by a visually stunning music video for “Why Why Why,” filmed in the serene Hudson Valley, New York—one of the key locations where the album was both written and recorded.

Mendes also kicked off a limited series of intimate performances in Woodstock, NY, offering fans an exclusive preview of the entire album. These shows, designed to echo the album’s creation, will continue in select cities, including London, Nashville, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Seattle—each location holding a special place in the album’s production. Fans can catch a glimpse of the Woodstock performance and the trailer for the upcoming shows online, with additional details available on Mendes’ official website.

In a heartfelt statement, Mendes reflected on the deeply personal journey that shaped his new album, saying, “Music really can be medicine. Two years ago, I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago, I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift. Honestly thank god for my friends and family. Life can be brutal but having a small group of people you deeply trust to walk you through makes it so much better. I really hope you love this album, I do. I really really do. I hope it makes you feel warm and close to the earth like it does for me.”

Shawn marks Mendes’ fifth studio album, capturing his most intimate and honest work to date. The album was crafted over two years across various locations, including Nosara, Costa Rica, and renowned studios in New York, Washington State, and Nashville. Collaborating with top-tier talent like Scott Harris, Mike Sabath, Nate Mercereau, and Eddie Benjamin, Mendes has created a body of work that guides listeners through a profound journey of self-discovery.

Mendes’ live performances of the album continue through October, with stops at iconic venues such as the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and The Ford in Los Angeles. Tickets and more information about the shows can be found on his official website.
