“Skill Of Love” blends soulful afrotech and hypnotic tension. Shimza & Alex Wann’s collab is now out via Helix.

Electronic tastemakers Alex Wann and Shimza come together for their anticipated new release “Skill Of Love,” now available through Helix Records. The track, teased during their iconic back-to-back at Miami Music Week and again at the Pyramids of Giza, merges afrotech’s rhythmic drive with melodic emotion.

“Skill Of Love” features a looping vocal refrain that drifts through shimmering piano chords and a suspenseful atmosphere. The minimal yet potent bassline adds tension, holding the listener in a deep groove from start to finish.

Alex Wann has quickly built a reputation as one of afro house’s most exciting new voices. After breaking through with “Milkshake” in 2023, he’s earned co-signs from Diplo, Pete Tong, and Keinemusik. This year, he’s played at major festivals like Cercle and Brunch Electronik, and shared stages with names like Pete Tong at IMS.

His recent works include high-profile remixes for Adriatique, Route 94, and WhoMadeWho & Kölsch. His track “Set Me Free” with Aaron Hibell was remixed by CamelPhat and received wide support across the electronic music community.

Shimza continues to elevate the South African dance scene on a global scale. With collaborations alongside Elderbrook, Aloe Blacc, and CamelPhat, and his “Karma Karma” radio show now reaching over one million listeners, Shimza is a key figure in afrotech’s rise. His Kunye events are redefining live dance experiences from Africa to Europe, with a major UK festival stage set for June 7 in London.
