“Alchemy” Marks a Creative Reawakening for GRAMMY Winner Cam

Cam returns with “Alchemy,” her first solo song in four years, and a bold step forward.
Cam returns with purpose and clarity on “Alchemy,” a genre-blending new single marking her first solo release in four years. Produced by Tyler Johnson and co-written with Johnson, Michael Uzowuru, and Anders Mouridsen, the song distills deep reflection into an uplifting, melodic experience.
“I wanted to write something where we just focused on melody, but it turned into a song about reflecting on what we’re made of, where we’re coming from and where we’re going,” Cam explains.
A compelling visual, filmed in a single take by James Mackel, arrives alongside the track. Mackel’s direction—previously seen in projects with Doechii—adds a visual layer that heightens the song’s thematic resonance.
Cam’s resume includes a Grammy-nominated hit in “Burning House,” which remains one of the highest-selling solo country tracks by a female artist. “Alchemy” follows in that tradition of emotionally grounded songwriting while expanding her sound in new directions.
More recently, Cam earned her first Grammy win as a songwriter for Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER. She was heavily involved in that project’s creative process, contributing not only as a writer but also with production and vocals.
She also teamed up with 070 Shake on the track “Never Let Us Fade,” adding further depth to her cross-genre appeal. As anticipation builds for her upcoming project, “Alchemy” sets a tone of curiosity, transformation, and unfiltered artistic expression.
