Beks Debuts ‘Hard Gloss’ EP: A Cinematic Pop Journey of Power and Self-Discovery

Club-pop artist Beks releases debut EP ‘Hard Gloss’ and single ‘Who You Kidding’—pure self-expression.
Beks, the club-pop artist with a bold aesthetic and magnetic energy, introduces herself with the EP Hard Gloss and standout single Who You Kidding. The project captures her evolution from collaborator to independent voice.
Previously seen supporting Madelline and performing at key pride events, Beks now channels her own perspective in Hard Gloss, produced by PALMR and finalized with help from top industry names.
“I’d spent so much time writing for and with others, I needed to find my own voice again. There was no safety net this time. Just me, backing myself. ‘Hard Gloss’ is what came out of that,” Beks states.
The lead track Who You Kidding is layered with electro-pop vibrancy and emotional candor. It’s both danceable and intimate, a true representation of Beks’ multidimensional approach.
“It’s the sound of high-voltage empowerment. Part of it was written under a rusty umbrella on my manager’s balcony in the middle of a lightning storm in London. I dropped all creative filters and let the truth drive the song. That bridge? It’s my proudest moment,” she notes.
Beks brings visibility to queer stories, with songs like I Knew A Girl and performances at Amsterdam Pride and Berlin’s Tipsy Bear anchoring her in the LGBTQIA+ community. With Hard Gloss, she offers music that resonates as both anthem and experience.
