UK electronic trio Joe Average resurface after decades with the pulsing single “Panic Buttons.”

In a comeback few saw coming, Joe Average have released their electrifying new single “Panic Buttons” after more than 30 years. Dropping July 8, 2025, the track is a fusion of old-school UK rave energy and fresh vocal edge.

Originally known as Joshua Cry’s Wolf, the trio—Rich, Mad Mick, and Prof—were key players in the early rave scene. Their underground hit “Infinity (Time for the Guru)” resonated in the London circuit, built on Rich’s driving percussion and Mick’s unforgettable sax.

Then, on October 13, 2023, fate intervened. Rich and Mick crossed paths—on the exact anniversary of their final performance. “It was like the universe was telling us to finish what we started,” Rich remembers. The pair tracked down Prof to complete the circle, discovering him still donning his original rave gear.

Now reformed, Joe Average have delivered “Panic Buttons”, featuring live instrumentation and a standout vocal by Faber. Rich handled production, ensuring the band’s legacy was both respected and refreshed.

Rich’s journey from drummer to entrepreneur adds another layer. After a serious accident sidelined his playing, he found new success building a global motorcycle exhaust brand. Now, with music back at the forefront, “Panic Buttons” stands as a powerful revival.
