Darren Kiely shares “Old & Grey” and “Mulcair Road,” two new tracks that reflect on change, love, and memory. Out now via Free Flight Records.

Darren Kiely invites listeners into a deeply personal journey with his latest releases, “Old & Grey” and “Mulcair Road,” now available via Free Flight Records. These two new tracks highlight Kiely’s ability to weave raw emotion into every lyric, exploring themes of nostalgia, longing, and self-reflection.

“Mulcair Road” offers an upbeat melody with heartfelt storytelling, painting a picture of revisiting a childhood place that no longer feels the same. Co-written with Ross Ellis, Joe Fox, and Geoff Warburton, the song resonates with anyone who has ever returned home to find it changed. “It describes the expectation of familiarity and safety but the realization that time has passed and what you left isn’t there anymore,” says Kiely.

On the other hand, “Old & Grey” slows things down with a mid-tempo arrangement and ethereal background whistles, perfectly complementing its theme of loss. Written with Joe Fox and Geoff Warburton, the song captures the deep longing for a loved one and how their absence can shift our sense of self. “It expresses how we can lose our identity without those we love the most,” Kiely shares.

As he continues his Never Been Here Before World Tour, these releases mark another milestone in his career, demonstrating his growth as a songwriter and storyteller.

Both tracks are now streaming on all major platforms.
