With a new name and global momentum, i-dle release “[We are]”—led by bold new single “Good Thing.”

Global K-pop icons i-dle, formerly known as (G)I-DLE, have officially entered a new era with their latest mini-album [We are]. The six-track release is the first under their rebranded name and features the commanding lead single “Good Thing,” signaling a confident step forward in their artistic journey.

By removing the “G” and parentheses from their name, the group—MINNIE, MIYEON, SHUHUA, SOYEON, and YUQI—declare an identity untethered to gender expectations. According to the group, the change represents a commitment to limitless creativity and freedom in their music, concepts, and expression.

This creative autonomy is nothing new for i-dle. Since debuting in 2018, they’ve been writing and producing their own music—an approach rarely seen at their scale in K-pop. Their influence has grown exponentially, with over 6 billion YouTube views, 6.8 million monthly Spotify listeners, and sold-out global tours.

Their 2023 record I Feel hit #1 in Korea, and their second full-length album 2 reached over a million in sales in just two days. [We are] continues this upward trajectory, delivering tracks that blend power, precision, and depth—all hallmarks of i-dle’s sound.

Influencers and fans alike have long praised their distinct artistry. With [We are], i-dle continue to set a precedent for what artist-led K-pop looks like in the global arena.
