Mina Okabe shares “Always Hurts,” a deeply personal new single reflecting on love, loss, and the passage of time, out now via Capitol Records.

Danish-Japanese singer-songwriter Mina Okabe unveils her latest single, “Always Hurts”, an introspective ballad that explores the pain and beauty of connection. The track, produced by Leroy Clampitt, serves as the fourth preview of her sophomore album, set for release this spring via Capitol Records.

With soft acoustic guitar, delicate piano, and layered harmonies, “Always Hurts” builds from an intimate confession to an emotionally charged anthem. Okabe expresses:

Mina Okabe – Always Hurts

“I grew up with a Danish dad and a Japanese mom and in different cities. I’ve lived in London, New York, and Manila but now live in Copenhagen. Although I’m very grateful for the experiences it has brought me, and I somewhat got used to leaving places and people behind, there are some people in my life I never want to leave and never would be able to say goodbye to. This song is for and about them.” – Mina Okabe

Following her Spotify Borderless Artist recognition, Okabe has cemented herself as an artist with a truly global reach. With a sold-out Japan tour, a 2025 Music Moves Europe nomination, and major festival appearances, she continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
