Behind You Share Explosive New Single “Cell” and iPhone-Filmed Visual

Behind You’s “Cell” blends punk, noise, and surrealism with a video shot across LA and Vegas. Watch now.
Rising from the Eora/Sydney underground, acid rock provocateurs Behind You return with their powerful new single “Cell.” Built around themes of inner conflict and psychological fragmentation, the song is a gritty yet hypnotic exploration of self-interrogation and emotional duality.
The band pairs their alt-hip hop influenced vocals with digital textures and a punk urgency, distilling their identity into a wild, chantable refrain:
“How do you even communicate with yourself? Is dealing with the inner critic a process of eliminating them, or befriending them? Stargaze all the puddles in the cave, pull my muzzle on my face, never say whatever I said…”
The accompanying video—shot entirely on iPhone across Los Angeles and Las Vegas—was directed by Gabriel Gasparinatos and stars frontman Harry Welsh in a dual-role narrative of psychological collapse. From the polished floors of the Venetian to late-night drives on Mulholland Drive, the story unfolds as two versions of the self spiral into toxic chaos.
Behind You’s sound draws inspiration from acts like Low Life, Dreamcrusher, and Snapped Ankles, creating an aesthetic of managed mischief and curated furore. Their cross-medium approach blends sound and visuals into immersive, gritty fantasies where subcultures thrive.
Formed by Frank Fisher, Joe Goddard, and Dylan Clay, the band has earned critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, triple j, VICE, and RAGE, while sharing stages with both rising and underground legends like BAYANG (tha Bushranger) and Marcus Whale.
