Bellah Mae Kicks Off 2025 with Savage New Banger “Bad Day To Be My Ex”

Bellah Mae’s “Bad Day To Be My Ex” is fierce, fun, and fully unbothered—just like the Gen-Z pop queen herself.
UK pop firestarter Bellah Mae is entering 2025 with one mission: say what she means and make it sound so good. Her new single “Bad Day To Be My Ex” is out now—and it’s exactly the anthem you want when you’re feeling a little savage and a lot empowered.
The track was written in Nashville with Brigetta Truitt and produced by Brett Truitt, and it channels all the “I’m not crying, I’m thriving” energy you’d expect from Bellah. “I’ve really learned that I don’t have to be too strong all the time — I can still be soft,” she says. “But if you break my heart… I’ll write an absolutely savage song about you.”
Bellah’s calling card? Deep storytelling with an edge—and this song proves she’s mastered the art of turning heartbreak into high-energy pop. There’s even a cheeky line calling herself a “Gen-Z Pamela Anderson,” a nod to her love for ‘90s icons who reclaimed their narratives.
After a reflective 2024 with her EP Never Waste A Heartbreak, Bellah’s making music for driving fast, dancing harder, and overthinking less. “My new songs make me want to get out, blast them in the car, and just live,” she adds.
With co-signs from Tate McRae, two sold-out UK tours, and over 100K streams to date, Bellah Mae is fully in her bag—and not looking back. “Bad Day To Be My Ex” is just the beginning.
