Calum Hood Drops Soul-Searching Solo Debut ‘ORDER chaos ORDER’ + “Sunsetter” Video

“Sunsetter” leads Calum Hood’s new album ‘ORDER chaos ORDER’—a raw, emotional solo debut out now.
After years of captivating audiences as part of 5 Seconds of Summer, Calum Hood steps fully into his own spotlight with the release of his debut solo album ‘ORDER chaos ORDER’, available now via Capitol Records. Alongside the album comes the video for “Sunsetter,” a track that reflects the meditative heart of the project.
The album is the result of years of introspection and musical exploration. “My lyrics come from a place of purity,” Calum shares. “Growing up, the whole reason I wanted to do music was so that I could write songs. It was important to pay homage to that side of my younger self.”
Co-produced with Day Wave’s Jackson Phillips, and featuring input from David Burris and TMS, the record blends analog soul and electronic textures. It’s a sonic diary—filled with quiet revelations and layered meaning.
The album’s emotional center is “Don’t Forget You Love Me”, first released in March and named a “Song You Need To Know” by Rolling Stone. Elsewhere, tracks like “Sweetdreams,” “All My Affection,” and “Call Me When You Know Better” highlight the contrasts in tone—light and shadow, order and chaos.
Whether it’s the wave-like rhythms of “Sunsetter” or the glitchy vulnerability of “Call Me…”, Calum’s solo voice is distinct and self-assured. With ‘ORDER chaos ORDER’, he finds strength in honesty—and offers listeners a safe place to feel deeply.
