CHINCHILLA opens a new chapter with the evocative music video for her latest single “Avoidance,” released June 5th. Directed by Claryn Chong, the visual sees CHINCHILLA fall—both literally and emotionally—into a state of reflection and heartbreak. The styling, curated by Holly Wood and fashion visionary Keko Hainswheeler, brings high-art visuals to this deeply personal piece.
The single, born from a moment of anxiety following a text message received en route to a writing session, was completed in just 45 minutes. CHINCHILLA’s honest lyrics and simple production deliver a song that resonates deeply with fans.
She explains: “‘Avoidance’ was written when I was going through a really rough break up… I feel so emotionally attached to this video because the best word I can use to describe it is ‘honest’.”
Following support from media tastemakers like MTV and CLASH, and her recent stadium performances with Justin Timberlake, CHINCHILLA continues her rise. The “Avoidance” video kicks off a trilogy of summer releases and coincides with her fall European headline tour, which opens for presale today.
She’s also confirmed as support for G Flip’s upcoming US tour in 2025, making her one to watch on both sides of the Atlantic.
