Daniel Seavey’s Second Wind Arrives, Marking His Solo Breakthrough

Daniel Seavey drops Second Wind, his debut solo album blending pop-rock influences and introspective songwriting. Featuring “Lose Me Like You Mean It.”
Daniel Seavey is making his mark as a solo artist with the release of Second Wind, his debut full-length album via Atlantic Records. The 12-track project, executive-produced by Michael Pollack, sees Seavey fully embrace his creative vision, blending early-aughts pop-rock influences with raw storytelling.
Seavey describes the album as deeply personal yet optimistic. “It’s about a boy desperately clinging on to his youth while life is trying to force him to grow up,” he explains. “When I started making happier songs, my mindset changed—I started hearing ‘little me’ in my music again.”
The album follows a transformative year for Seavey, including a breakout performance at Lollapalooza and tours supporting Benson Boone and Dean Lewis. Songs like “Gateway Drug,” “The Older You Get,” and lead single “Lose Me Like You Mean It” have quickly become fan favorites.
After co-founding Why Don’t We in 2016 and earning platinum hits, Seavey faced a challenging period marked by legal struggles and personal hardships. His 2023 Dancing In The Dark EP introduced his solo sound, receiving praise from Rolling Stone and Billboard.
Now free to create on his own terms, Seavey is embarking on the Second Wind Tour, kicking off March 18 in Dallas, TX. With this album, he steps confidently into his next era, proving that his best work is still ahead.
