Congolese music icon Fally Ipupa, recognized as the Prince of Rumba, is set to release his much-anticipated album, ‘XX’, on April 17 through Warner Music France. This album commemorates two decades of his influential and prolific career in the music industry, showcasing his evolution and creativity.

The album is led by the standout track ‘Jam’, featuring renowned afrobeats artist Wizkid, along with the previously released hit ‘Cinéma’. ‘XX’ comprises 19 tracks that highlight a rich tapestry of sounds, reflecting Fally’s growth as an artist. Notably, the album features contributions from a lineup of international artists, including GRAMMY Award-winner Angélique Kidjo, Haitian star Joé Dwèt Filé, amapiano innovator DJ Maphorisa from South Africa, the duo Calema from São Tomé, and French rap artist KeBlack. Collaborating with esteemed producers such as Trésor Riziki, Dany Synthé, and Seysey, Fally delivers a polished sonic output that resonates with both contemporary and traditional styles.

At the heart of ‘XX’ lies the essence of Congolese rumba, a genre characterized by its guitar-driven melodies and emotional depth. This new release merges the global pop elements that defined his acclaimed Tokoos era with the deep-rooted sounds that have always informed Fally’s artistry. Through this album, he aims to both preserve and elevate his musical legacy, incorporating influences from pop, R&B, and afrobeats.

Fally Ipupa’s impact transcends music, serving as a cultural ambassador associated with organizations like UNESCO and UNICEF. His career milestones include over three billion global streams, 2.5 billion YouTube views, and a robust social media following of 30 million. His milestone performances, including becoming the first African solo artist to sell out the Paris La Défense Arena, underscore his central role in advancing African music on the world stage.

In addition to the album release, Fally Ipupa has planned concerts at Stade de France in Paris to celebrate his 20 years in the music industry. Following this, an international tour across the UK, Europe, and North America is on the horizon, promising to further amplify the global reach of African music.
