iyla debuts visually stunning “Corset” music video and sets August 8 for her debut album ‘Weeping Angel’.

iyla takes creative control with the release of her newest visual for “Corset,” a track from her highly anticipated debut album Weeping Angel, arriving August 8. The new video offers a surreal, stylized portrayal of emotional push-pull in relationships.

Directed by Justin Moser with iyla as creative director, the video brings to life the aesthetic themes from the album’s cover. With makeup design by Sasha Glasser and Raylene Guzmán, and styling by Carlos Aviles, the result is visually hypnotic.

“Corset” tells a story of entanglement and self-reflection, amplified by lyrics that describe a lover like a corset—tight, seductive, but ultimately suffocating. The production by Kadis delivers the emotional impact in full.

The track also serves as a gateway into Weeping Angel, a 13-track debut shaped in the aftermath of iyla’s mother’s passing. It marks her most personal release to date.

“The fact I made this record in the most challenging time of my life is a pearl I’m so proud of,” iyla says. “I’ve attained a level of confidence I didn’t have before.”

“Corset” not only previews iyla’s growth as a songwriter and vocalist—it reveals her powerful hand as a visual storyteller too.
