The accompanying lyric video is an arresting, colorful, hodgepodge of cartoon images, blurred video silhouettes, and vibrant graphics. It perfectly supplements the track and feels like a DIY zine come to life. The video exclusively premiered with Atwood Magazine, fans can read the full article HERE.

Out next month, Flowers for Men channels a sound that Jena calls “sci-fi/folk”; it’s otherworldly, emotionally bare, and lyrically revelatory. The album was co-produced by Jamie Johnson and documents Jena’s journey in undoing the expectations and hierarchies around relationships. The project’s lead single “Barstow,” was named after a town in California’s Mojave Desert, and its cinematic lyricism is beautifully paired with a Jennifer Reeder-directed music video. Beginning with a voicemail beep, “You’ve Been On My Mind” is a diaristic vignette and window into Jena’s narrative world. Misaligned desires come to a head on the track, with a chorus that echoes false promises and a refrain that captures true intentions. Through synth and distorted vocals, Jena professes, “I’m arresting him with promises I will never keep.”
