Josiah Queen shares Yesterday Is Dead, a song about freedom, faith, and new beginnings. Listen now via Capitol Records/CCMG.

Following the success of Can’t Steal My Joy featuring Brandon Lake, breakout artist Josiah Queen returns with Yesterday Is Dead, an uplifting anthem about moving forward and embracing new beginnings. Released via Capitol Records/Capitol Christian Music Group (CCMG), the track continues Queen’s streak of powerful, faith-driven storytelling.

Co-written with John Michael Howell, who also produced the song, Yesterday Is Dead channels Queen’s Americana-leaning sound into a high-energy celebration of transformation. “‘Yesterday Is Dead feels like a weight being lifted off of my back,’” Queen explains. “‘This song is about the freedom and new life I have found in Jesus. It represents letting go of the past and walking into hope.’”

The song’s teasers generated over three million views ahead of release, and excitement continues to build as Queen is set to perform Yesterday Is Dead live on Fox & Friends Weekend on Easter Sunday (April 20).

With over 400 million global streams—including 265 million U.S. streams for his 2024 self-released debut album The Prodigal—Queen is a fast-rising force in Christian and Americana music. His 2025 global headline tour will kick off in Cincinnati on March 26, continuing his momentum after a sold-out 2024 tour across 40+ cities.

Yesterday Is Dead is available now on all streaming platforms.
