“Been A Minute” is Leigh-Anne’s energetic return, sampling a classic and celebrating self-expression.

Leigh-Anne kicks off a new era with the release of her latest single “Been A Minute,” now available through Virgin Music Group. The track arrives with a striking visual and musical identity, sampling Masters at Work’s “Work” and transforming it with Caribbean influence and Leigh-Anne’s signature vocals.

Produced by Elijah “GYW Eli” Ross and Lasse Qvist, and co-written by Leigh-Anne herself, the single blends dancehall grooves with nostalgic pop energy. Her vocal delivery strikes a balance between laid-back confidence and rhythmic intensity.

The music video, helmed by Femi Lade, captures a high-energy carnival scene set in a surreal world. Bold choreography and vibrant costumes set the tone before a dramatic twist reveals a red-clad figure disrupting Leigh-Anne’s flow—only temporarily.

Of the track’s inspiration, Leigh-Anne said:

“There’s something powerful about sampling a song that shaped me growing up… ‘Been a Minute’ is fun, nostalgic, and the first taste of this new era…”

This release marks her first since the 2024 EP ‘No Hard Feelings’, a record praised for its fusion of modern R&B with Caribbean rhythms. The project laid the foundation for her first sold-out headline tour across UK and Ireland.

Now with “Been A Minute,” Leigh-Anne heads into summer with festival performances locked in at Reading and Leeds, and headline slots at Manchester Pride and Mighty Hoopla Malta.
