Lights Just Dropped Two New Singles from “A6″—Which One Are You Turning Up?

Lights releases “WHITE PAPER PALM TREES” and “SURFACE TENSION” and lets fans pick their vibe.
Lights is back with not one, but two new singles from her upcoming album A6, and she’s leaving it up to fans to decide which one they vibe with more. Out now, “WHITE PAPER PALM TREES” and “SURFACE TENSION” couldn’t be more different—and that’s entirely the point.
“I couldn’t decide which song to release because I feel like both appeal to such different sides of the fan base,” she says. “So I had the idea to release both simultaneously and let the fans decide where they stand.”
“WHITE PAPER PALM TREES” brings a nostalgic glow, nodding to Lights’ early sound, while “SURFACE TENSION” dives into dark wave territory with a moody beat and German lyrics woven in. Both tracks were written and produced by Lights herself, showing the full spectrum of her creative vision.
The music videos? Designed to be played at the same time. Directed and edited by Lights, they’re meant to interact visually when synced side by side. The only question is—which volume are you turning up?
The songs follow previous teasers “ALIVE AGAIN” and “DAMAGE” from A6, which drops May 2. Pre-orders are open now with exclusive orange crush vinyl and signed editions available.
To celebrate, Lights is throwing a special win-to-get-in fan event in LA on April 15—Lights at Slipper Clutch (A)Live Again – an A6 Night. You’ll need to head to her TikTok for a chance to score an invite.
