Naomi Sharon is embracing growth and independence with her newly announced EP, The Only Love We Know, arriving May 9 via OVO Sound. To kick off the new era, she’s released the title track—a soulful, intimate piece that expands on her journey as both an artist and individual.
Following last month’s “Can We Do This Over,” the new single presents a refined sound, executive produced by Jordan Ullman of Majid Jordan. While love remains a theme, Sharon turns the focus inward, exploring themes of self-love and acceptance.
“This EP is more about finding happiness within yourself and embracing the positive things in life,” she says. “There is a deeper understanding that true love comes from within.”
Drawing on influences from her childhood—including her father’s deep house collection and the immersive sounds of Buddha-Bar compilations—Sharon incorporates elegance and emotional depth into her evolving sound. “That aesthetic and vibe have now been translated into this EP… a style that feels both relaxed and sophisticated,” she shares.
Born and raised in Rotterdam, Sharon continues to shape her global identity through music. Blending her Dutch and Caribbean heritage, her style resonates across borders. As OVO Sound’s first female signee, she’s collaborated with elite producers like Noah “40” Shebib and Alex Lustig. She was also spotlighted as one of Spotify’s R&B Rising Artists To Watch for 2024.
