Queen Naija Honors Motherhood in “Straight Outta Heaven”
Tranquility Base Vol. 2 by Above & Beyond features five new club tracks blending trance, acid, and breakbeat.
Queen Naija has released her latest single, “Straight Outta Heaven,” a tender anthem celebrating the joys and challenges of motherhood. The multi-platinum singer-songwriter’s new track, available via Capitol Records, reflects her journey as a mother of two, weaving themes of love, hope, and faith into her emotive lyrics.
The song captures the heartfelt bond between Queen Naija and her children, as she openly shares her feelings about navigating motherhood. In touching lyrics, she sings, “Being your mother didn’t come with instructions / So if I mess up please just know that I love you,” and later adds, “Whenever you smile / My whole world lights up / As long as you’re okay / Then mommy is okay.”
Queen Naija describes the track as a continuation of her hit “Mama’s Hand,” dedicated to her firstborn. “When I became pregnant with my second-born, I worried how I would be able to split my love in half,” she explains. “That feeling led me to creating ‘Straight Outta Heaven.’ There are no instructions that come with how to do this #momlife, but all of us are just trying our best.”
“Straight Outta Heaven” follows her recent singles, “Missing You” and “Good Girls Finish Last,” marking her return to music after the release of her 2023 EP After the Butterflies. The project featured collaborations with Ella Mai, Monica, and NBA YoungBoy, showcasing her versatility and artistry.
