Rainbow Kitten Surprise release “Dang” with a video inspired by Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

With the release of “Dang”, Rainbow Kitten Surprise present a single that blends indie textures with deeply personal storytelling. Available now on Atlantic Records, the track also features a visually engaging music video that follows a couple through Nashville on a romantic mission to attend a pop-up concert.

“Dang” begins with steady, rhythmic guitar patterns and builds into an anthemic chorus, delivered with passion by Ela Melo. The song’s energy taps into that carefree summer spirit, inviting listeners to fully immerse themselves in the moment.

The video acts as a visual homage to the 2008 film Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, reimagined through a queer lens in East Nashville. It captures the magic of music-driven discovery, reflecting both the band’s roots and their creative evolution.

Speaking about the single, the band shared:

“When we wrote this, we envisioned tracking it with Jay Joyce and it’s pretty legendary that actually came to be… For your enjoyment, here’s ‘Dang.’”

As Rainbow Kitten Surprise continue to expand their reach and sound, “Dang” functions as a bridge—one that connects their past to their present, and their music to their community. It’s a reminder of why this band continues to hold space in the hearts of longtime fans and new listeners alike.
