Ruger’s new album BlownBoy Ru mixes Afrobeats, trap, amapiano & dancehall, out now via Promised Land.

Ruger is leveling up. With his sophomore album BlownBoy Ru, the Nigerian singer-songwriter, MOBO nominee, and Spotify 2025 Artist To Watch is back with a fearless, genre-bending statement. Out now via Promised Land Records, the album blends Afrobeats, dancehall, amapiano, pop, and R&B into a confident, culture-spanning body of work.

“BlownBoy is not just a title—it’s a mindset,” Ruger says. “My songwriting has evolved. I still have that raw energy, but now it’s refined, more calculated.”

Ruger teams up with major collaborators including Tiwa Savage on the streaming smash “Toma Toma” (30M+ streams), Zlatan on the trap-inspired “Give Away,” Kranium on the sensual “DuDu,” and Uganda’s Haile on the amapiano-infused “Runaway.”

“DuDu” arrives with a brand-new video that mirrors the track’s smooth, dancehall-inspired energy. Meanwhile, fan-favorite “Jay Jay” pays tribute to football icon Jay-Jay Okocha and exploded on TikTok, generating 50M+ views.

The COLORS performance of “Toro” added another viral moment to Ruger’s rollout. Combine that with his 2025 MOBO nomination and placement on Spotify’s Global Artist To Watch list, and it’s clear Ruger is owning the moment.

Ruger’s world tour kicks off this spring with US and EU dates at venues like Philadelphia’s Brooklyn Bowl and Vienna’s Hallmann Dome. He returns to the UK in September with headline shows at Indigo at The O2, O2 Ritz Manchester, and O2 Institute Birmingham.

BlownBoy Ru is more than a second album—it’s a flex. Ruger is ready to take over.
