“Paper Doll,” Samantha Fish’s latest album, captures fiery conviction and expansive sonic exploration.

New Orleans-based guitarist and songwriter Samantha Fish has unleashed her latest album Paper Doll on Rounder Records, blending rock, soul, and fierce guitar work. Declared by Rolling Stone as “a genuine force of sonic prowess,” Fish once again delivers music filled with boldness and emotional resonance.

Produced by Bobby Harlow (The Go), Paper Doll showcases Fish’s ability to merge styles while retaining her signature “bold and expressive” approach (NPR World Cafe). To celebrate the release, Fish will make her national TV debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show, performing her blistering single “Lose You,” which features “sizzling slide escapades” (Premier Guitar). “It’s about taking control and calling the shots in a relationship,” says Fish.

The nine songs on Paper Doll pulse with raw energy and heartfelt reflection, with Fish “stretching idiomatic boundaries” (Nashville Scene) throughout. The album title speaks to Fish’s spirit of defiance: “It’s about rebelling against other people’s expectations of who you’re supposed to be.”

Fish recorded Paper Doll during a busy touring period, tracking at The Orb in Austin and Savannah Studios in LA with her bandmates Ron Johnson, Jamie Douglass, and Mickey Finn. The result is a record brimming with “road-worn chemistry and raw, electric charm” (Blues Rock Review).

Following her Grammy nomination for Death Wish Blues and collaborations with icons like The Rolling Stones, Fish is currently on a nationwide tour, with JazzFest appearances and more on the horizon.
