Sigrid Reclaims the Joy of Music in Her Latest Single “Jellyfish”

Pop star Sigrid returns with “Jellyfish,” a whimsical track born from creative freedom and reset energy.
Norwegian sensation Sigrid has debuted “Jellyfish,” a single that represents both a sonic pivot and personal reconnection to joy. After stepping back from industry expectations in 2024, she now embraces playfulness and instinct in her new material.
“It’s my slightly more free-spirited and joyous side,” she says of the track. “I wanted it to feel easy — like a Scandinavian summer.”
Co-written with Askjell Solstrand, “Jellyfish” blends vintage tones and light-hearted lyricism. The music video enhances this with surreal visuals that nod to 2000s culture and films like Napoleon Dynamite.
Beyond the catchy hooks, the song reflects Sigrid’s personal reset. After world tours and global success, she took time off — traveling, journaling, and reconnecting with music outside the spotlight. That experience led to “Jellyfish,” an organic track focused more on mood than metrics.
“I love using my voice as a vessel to pour my heart out,” she shares. “But on this song, I wanted it to sound carefree, joyful and playful — maybe a bit nonchalant.”
Her journey from global pop stages to spontaneous studio sessions reveals a renewed artist — still powerful, now freer.
