‘Holy Water’ is here, Marshmello x Jelly Roll deliver a heartfelt hook and country glow

Share ready, ‘Holy Water’ blends country strings and bright synths, Jelly Roll leads the chorus, Marshmello keeps it moving.
Add this to your rotation with a smile. Marshmello drops ‘Holy Water’ with Jelly Roll, out now on Mercury Records, Big Loud Records. The vibe is instant, classic country colors over an up tempo beat, with Marshmello playing 12 string guitar, baritone guitar, and mandolin in the studio. Those textures lift the groove, and the synths keep everything skipping forward.
When Jelly Roll steps in, the chorus blooms, “One tear for the brokenhearted, pour out a little holy water.” It tugs heartstrings and hits with that sing along pull, the kind of line that feels good to say out loud. The whole record moves with purpose, warm and energetic, built for playlists and bright moments.
Marshmello shares the heart behind it. “It’s really heartfelt. This is one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever released. It’s about losing a loved one. Unfortunately, a lot of us can relate to that. When I showed the initial idea to Jelly Roll and told him the story, he loved it. He’s an open book, and it was really great to see how it resonated. It inspired me to go in even more on the production and get creative with the country elements. He definitely brought it home to where it is now.”
This is the second time Marshmello leans into country textures, a path first opened by ‘Miles On It’ with Kane Brown. It joins his 2025 run that already features ‘Worlds Apart’ [feat. Feat. AR/CO], ‘Save My Love’ [with Ellie Goulding & AVAION], and ‘Slow Motion’ [with Jonas Brothers]. Press play, keep the energy kind, and let the chorus carry.
