Ally Salort’s “Horror Movie” explores love and danger through cinematic storytelling. Out now via Disruptor/RCA.

Jersey-raised and LA-based, Ally Salort is making waves with her latest single “Horror Movie,” available now through Disruptor Records/RCA Records. Known for her poignant songwriting and cinematic aesthetic, Salort’s newest release leans into metaphor to explore the emotional danger of repeating toxic relationship cycles.

“Horror movie is one big metaphor for going back to a person that will hurt you every time,” says Ally. “Opening the door (the relationship) that everyone around you is screaming for you to not open; very similar to the girl that dies first in every scary film. I had the lines ‘I’m damned if I do but I’ll be more damned if I don’t’ and from there we wrote the chorus. Can’t wait for people to hear the whole thing!”

Growing up in Maplewood, New Jersey, Ally was surrounded by creativity. After attending her brother’s recitals, she requested singing lessons at just seven years old. At 14, she was selected for a talent program that brought her to Los Angeles. That experience laid the groundwork for her online growth on YouTube and TikTok, where she posts original music and covers.

After recently completing a European tour with Mackenzy Mackay, Ally is now focused on finalizing her debut EP. With influences like Fiona Apple and Ariana Grande, she continues to carve out space for personal, reflective storytelling that connects with a broad audience.
