CATTY makes a bold return with “Joyride,” a theatrical anthem of messy romance and heartbreak.

Welsh singer-songwriter CATTY explodes back into the spotlight with “Joyride,” an unfiltered emotional rollercoaster and her first single since 2024’s acclaimed debut EP Healing Out Of Spite. Premiered on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop, Joyride is bold, brash, and impossible to ignore.

Written in the heat of a chaotic rebound, Joyride fuses glam-pop drama with pop-rock grit—lush strings, cinematic brass, and a vocal performance that careens from desperation to defiance.

“Everything I write is unfortunately a little too true to life,” CATTY shares. “I had sworn off love for 14 months… So Joyride is basically me saying, I’m all in, please don’t hurt me.”

From “I throw it all away” to “I don’t even care if I get out alive,” CATTY lays herself bare. The upcoming video—a sapphic Thelma & Louise fantasy starring Amy Spalding—promises even more drama, continuing what CATTY calls “the lesbian renaissance.”

Following a meteoric 2024 that included support slots with Dylan and Beth McCarthy, a sold-out Lafayette headline, and a dream opening for Stevie Nicks at BST Hyde Park, CATTY has cemented her status as one to watch.

Catch her live at The Great Escape (May 15), CloseUp Festival (May 22), Birmingham Pride (May 24), and Latitude Festival this July. Joyride is available everywhere now via AWAL.
