Rising pop singer-songwriter Diva Smith makes a powerful first impression with her debut single, “Better in Heaven.” The song delivers deep emotional storytelling, wrapped in lush production and a rhythm that intensifies as the track progresses.
Reflecting on the song’s deeply personal message, Diva shares:
“‘Better in Heaven’ reflects on the feelings of hopelessness and confusion that come along with a first heartbreak; the worry that the sinking feeling will never pass, and hoping to every god that you don’t even believe in that it will. It explores the trials and triumphs that come along with healing, and resolves itself in knowing that as time passes, feelings pass too.”
The song was crafted alongside Stella Smyth, a collaborator and close friend Diva met in a music business class at NYU. Their first session took place remotely during the pandemic, sparking a creative connection that continues to thrive. GRAMMY-nominated producer Marty MARO (TWICE, Anitta, Selena Gomez) contributed additional production, giving the track its refined yet deeply personal sound.
With “Better in Heaven,” Diva introduces her unique “Therapy Pop” style—an honest and emotional take on pop music. Expect more from her in 2025.
