NYC’s Introspekt releases “The Transmission” and announces debut LP “Moving The Center”, a femme-forward dubstep statement.

Meet your new favorite disruptor: DJ and producer Introspekt has officially dropped “The Transmission,” a thumping new instrumental that puts queer, femme bass energy front and center. Alongside the release, she’s announced her debut album Moving The Center, out June 20 via Tempa.

Born in LA and now based in New York, Introspekt has carved out a lane that’s uniquely hers—melding UK garage, dubstep, and East Coast club music with her Black transsexual lesbian identity. The result? Tracks like “The Transmission” that are sonically heavy, deeply intentional, and unapologetically rooted in ballroom and diasporic rhythm.

“Moving The Center embodies an alternate perspective to that which has been dominant in dance music,” Introspekt says. “The narrative it presents is one which throws a wrench in the seemingly common perception of Dubstep as a masculinist sensibility. Moving The Center pushes a feminine physicality to the front of the bassbins. Femmes to the front!”

The album, her first full-length following last year’s collaborative EP Tectónica, draws from South London dubstep while broadening its scope—spanning Black diaspora rhythms from both sides of the Atlantic and reframing the genre’s energy through a femme lens.

With overtones of early 2000s dubstep fused with contemporary club tension, Moving The Center is shaping up to be a game-changer. And with “The Transmission” out now, the countdown is on.
