Viral momentum, Josiah Queen unveils ‘I’ll Fly Away’ with Benjamin William Hastings

‘I’ll Fly Away’ launches as ‘Mt. Zion’ approaches on Aug 22, with headline shows and ‘Dusty Bibles’ streaming growth.
An audience wave precedes Josiah Queen’s latest release. ‘Dusty Bibles’, another single from ‘Mt. Zion’, sparked a 30,000 plus sing along at Lifest in Wisconsin, is logging over 5.2 million streams weekly, and has charted on Spotify’s Viral 50 in 18 countries, including within the top 10 in the U.S., and within the top 25 of Spotify’s global tally. Social posts connected to ‘Dusty Bibles’ surpassed 100 million views in the first month.
Into that momentum arrives ‘I’ll Fly Away’, a jubilant celebration of the sweet hereafter. Josiah Queen is joined by Benjamin William Hastings, the singer and writer of ‘So Will I (100 Billion X)’, recorded by Hillsong UNITED, a song that was a huge inspiration during Queen’s upbringing. Queen co wrote the track with Zac Lawson and John Michael Howell, with production by Hank Bentley, known for work with Brandon Lake and Crowder.
Queen articulates the heart of the song in his own words:
“‘I’ll Fly Away is a song of hope, rooted in the promise that this life isn’t the end. It’s about the day we’ll be reunited with our loved ones in Heaven – singing, worshiping, and embracing them once again in the presence of God. I think of family and friends already there and this song feels like my heart is reaching toward that homecoming.”
The single leads directly to the new album. ‘Mt. Zion’ will be released August 22 via Capitol Records, Capitol Christian Music Group. The project follows ‘The Prodigal’, Queen’s independently released debut, which entered Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart at No. 1 in June of 2024 and returned to the top five earlier this month. To date, ‘The Prodigal’ has over 140 million combined global streams.
Two headline shows will mark the album’s arrival, October 27 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and November 1 at Yuengling Center in Tampa. Tickets for the Ryman sold out in under 48 hours, limited tickets for Tampa are available HERE. Queen recently appeared as special guest on the U.S. leg of Phil Wickham and Brandon Lake’s summer arena tour, which wrapped earlier this week at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.
