Rising Artist Novulent Drops New EP BEFORE EVOLUTION

Novulent releases BEFORE EVOLUTION, a cinematic EP featuring the standout track “death wish.” Out now on all platforms.
At just 20 years old, Novulent is carving a space for himself in alternative music with the release of his new EP, BEFORE EVOLUTION. Available now via Capitol Records, the project reflects his artistic growth and sets the stage for his next chapter.
The three-song collection includes “death wish,” a standout track featuring New Zealand artist whatsaheart. With haunting production and emotional depth, the song explores the intensity of a toxic relationship. “The premise behind ‘death wish’ is a toxic relationship but very exaggerated, in order to be cinematic,” Novulent explains. “It feels like a death wish—you feel like you’re actually dying and being harmed by being around them.”
The EP comes as Novulent wraps his first headline tour, which included sold-out shows in Chicago and Los Angeles. His Evolution Tour ends with stops in Houston, Dallas, and New York City, where he’ll perform at Mercury Lounge on February 1.
Known for blending hard rock, shoegaze, and Midwest emo influences, Novulent first gained attention with his breakout hit “scars,” which has earned over 111 million Spotify streams. “This EP is not just emotionally vulnerable—it also shows how much I’ve grown as an artist,” says Novulent.
