“Opposites” by Vicetone and Linney explores chemistry that defies logic, out now via Departed Records.

Vicetone and Linney have teamed up to deliver “Opposites”—an emotional, melody-rich anthem about falling for someone completely different from yourself. Out now via Departed Records, the single combines the Dutch duo’s polished production with Linney’s unmistakable voice in a track that’s heartfelt and ready for repeat spins.

“We love writing music that tells a story and evokes emotions,” Vicetone says. “With ‘Opposites,’ we wanted to capture that unexplainable connection between two people who shouldn’t work on paper but just do.”

Linney adds her own perspective: “‘Opposites’ is about the magnetic nature of a relationship that works without any explainable logic besides how two puzzle pieces seem to fit so perfectly. On paper, we’re polar opposites, but in reality, you’re everything I never knew I needed.”

The collaboration merges emotional storytelling with festival-ready energy. Vicetone, made up of longtime friends Ruben den Boer and Victor Pool, has spent over a decade redefining the boundaries of dance music. With a billion streams and global recognition, their momentum shows no signs of slowing.

Their latest innovation, PROJECT V, will bring Vicetone’s music to the stage alongside traditional Chinese musicians. Launching in April 2025 with shows in Chengdu and Guangzhou, the concept blends East and West in a live format that reflects their global appeal.

“Opposites” is another chapter in Vicetone’s story of evolution—bringing intimacy to electronic music and proving that sometimes, opposites attract for all the right reasons.
